Yonkyu-Green Belt Requirement

Belt Promotion

Yonkyu: Green Belt; 4th Degree

Students are provide the opportunity to advance from White, Green, Brown and Black belt. Candidates are required to: demonstrate knowledge, skill and tournament management applications. Promotions are held 2 times during the semester. A Certificate of Promotion will be awarded after successful completion.

The promotional candidate must also be registered with the United States Judo Federation for rank verification.

  • General knowledge: History of Judo
    1. Devise 3 questions on the History of Judo.
    2. Devise 3 questions on Basic Judo etiquette and Judo hygiene.
  • Purpose of Ukemi
  • Correct forms of sitting and kneeling
  • Name the three elements of a Judo throw in English and Japanese: Canvas/LMS
  • Tournament Management: One volunteer position, CCSF Invitational Judo Tournament
