“Osae komi” - Referee command:
Consists of controlling your opponent with your body, to prevent them from escaping.
- In the Kodokan rules, a pin of 20 seconds results in an “Ippon gachi (Win by ippon). The match is over.
- If you hold your opponent down from 15 to 19.9 seconds, you would score an “Wazari”.
- If you hold your opponent down from 10 to 14.9 seconds, you would score an “Yuko”
- If you held your opponent down for only 9.9 seconds, there would be NO score.
